About

The Southwestern Regional Meeting of Organismal Biologists (SWOB) is an annual meeting of SICB members. Tomasz Owerkowicz started this meeting in 2012 and modeled it after the NE regional DVM meetings. Since then, this regional meeting has bounced around various SoCal schools. This meeting attracts up to ~80-100 organismal biologists from all over Southern CA with attendants from nearby UCs, CSUs, USC, and even as far as UNLV and Utah. Meeting attendants represent the Divisions of Vertebrate Morphology, Comparative Biomechanics, Comparative Physiology & Biochemistry, and Phylogenetics & Comparative Biology, among others.
